Feed the Future Global Supporting Seed Systems for Development

Feed the Future Global Supporting Seed Systems for Development's (S34D) global experts in formal and informal seed systems, and humanitarian and emergency aid programming provide technical assistance that complement ongoing host government and USAID investments. S34D is unique in that we operate on the interface between different seed systems. Technical Assistance addresses identified needs and gaps in the seed system and will strengthen the seed system to meet the agriculture-led inclusive economic growth objectives from the host government and USAID. S34D’s vision is improved choices for farmers to access quality seeds for resilient livelihoods. S34D’s goal is to improve the functioning of seed systems through customized services to upgrade seed systems.
S34D is an LWA Cooperative Agreement managed by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) made up of a consortium of partners that include Agri Experience, Alliance of Bioversity and CIAT (ABC), IFDC, Opportunity International, Pan-African Bean Research Alliance (PABRA) and Purdue University.
S34D seeks collaboration with USG implementing partners to complement their ongoing activities and investments in line with host government agriculture-led inclusive economic growth objectives.
S34D is contributing to the GFSS’ Objective 1, inclusive and sustainable agriculture-led economic growth by:
- Strengthening agricultural seed systems, strengthened and expanded access to markets and trade and increased sustainable productivity.
S34D contributes to GFSS Objective 2, strengthened resilience among people and systems by:
- Increased sustainable productivity, improved proactive risk reduction, mitigation and management and improved adaptation to and recovery form shocks and stresses.
