A presentation on why nutrition matters as a central development issue, understanding the causes of undernutrition, lessons on program design for agriculture, food security and nutrition programs, and specific examples of improving household food security and nutrition through homestead food production from Helen Keller International.

Victoria Quinn
Helen Keller International
Victoria Quinn is senior vice president of programs at Helen Keller International (HKI). Prior to this, she served as the director of the Academy for Educational Development (AED)’s Center for Nutrition. Also with AED, she was the senior technical manager of the country programs for the LINKAGES Project. She also worked as the regional coordinator of a multicountry nutrition policy, advocacy, and surveillance effort with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). Since 2007, Victoria has served as an adjunct associate professor in the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University.
