Farmer-to-Farmer Program

Greetings from USAID’s Bureau for Food Security!  I welcome you to this special series on the John Ogonowski and Doug Bereuter Farmer-to-Farmer Program (F2F). Now in its 29th year, F2F has just launched nine new 5-year programs sending U.S. volunteers to provide short-term agricultural technical assistance throughout the world. Since 1985, F2F has fielded 15,850 volunteers to 110 countries, assisting 1.2 million individuals through nearly 11,000 agribusinesses and organizations.

Below, you can read stories about these activities, hearing directly from volunteers, partners, beneficiaries, and key participants as they describe their experiences with F2F, discuss the food security challenges F2F combats in the field, and highlight the real results volunteers and their hosts achieve together. We hope this insight into F2F sparks your interest, encourages you to follow the on-going Agrilinks and partner blogs, and inspires you to volunteer or tell a friend.

Contribute your own questions and reflections at any time in the comments section below, and make sure to follow @Agrilinks on Twitter!
