#AskAg Twitter Chat: Making the Case for Investing in African Agriculture
Event Information
Investing in agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa has traditionally been associated with high cost and high risk and thus has depended on extensive donor assistance. However, non-government investors have begun to increase their investments in this sector, often with the assistance of risk sharing guarantees from donors such as USAID.
USAID's Development Credit Authority (@USAID_Credit) will host a twitter chat with Acumen Fund (@acumenfund) and Root Capital (@RootCapital), a social investment firm based in Boston, to talk about why they started investing in agriculture in Africa. Join the conversation about moving agriculture financing from a donor activity to a sustainable private investment opportunity.
