Effective Stakeholder Engagement for Resilience: Experiences of Implementing Participatory Tools and Approaches in Complex Systems
Event Information
The importance of including, involving and working alongside the communities and institutions who are affected by climate variability, change and hazards is widely recognized and accepted in risk reduction and resilience sectors. However, in practice, efforts to engage with stakeholders are undermined by constraints of project design and resources as well as a lack of understanding of how to approach participation in a way that will support long-term impact.
The Climate Information Services Research Initiative and the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance have developed and piloted innovative tools to address this crucial gap in good practice. In this joint webinar, the presenters will share their experiences of these approaches, examining what the projects have learned about effective stakeholder engagement and participation in complex systems, and how they contribute to resilience and sustainability.
