The Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit 2018
Event Information
The Global Youth Economic Opportunities Summit is the leading event for experts who are working to advance the social and economic well-being of young people. The Summit offers a first look at how new tools, research, and methodologies across health, education, and governance contribute to the social and economic inclusion of youth. It is a true global convening with representation from emerging economies and a variety of sectors. 2017’s Summit saw 550 participants from 55+ countries and 199 organizations. This year’s summit is expected to see a similar turnout with leading experts, implementers, donors, private sector professionals, researchers, and youth leaders.
In 2018, the GYEO Summit theme is, “Generation 2030: Learning & Earning in a Changing World of Work”. We will use this theme to continue our focus on the future of work, and move from broad trends to a deeper examination of critical topics. This includes the growing demand for digital skills, behavioral skills and holistic programming; emerging industries for employment (technology, healthcare, renewables and green jobs); youth in the rural economy and agriculture; self-employment in the growing gig economy and the informal economy; employer engagement, talent acquisition and work-based learning; and youth-led social impact entrepreneurship, among other topics.
