An invitation to USAID/Feed the Future Partners! Sign-up today! Join USAID’s Bureau for Food Security (BFS) for a 3-day in-person training. As USAID works to unlock private capital flows to the agricultural sector, we ask our partners, including USG agencies, donor institutions, and implementing partners to join this Catalyzing Finance and Investment for Agriculture training.

In this training, you will:

  • Sharpen knowledge of agriculture finance concepts, including the unique challenges and risks associated with agriculture finance.

  • Identify a variety of tools and approaches that can be integrated into USAID programming to increase access to finance and investment, and explore relevant case studies.

  • Learn how to apply agricultural finance tools, including practical elements of choosing the right tool to achieve programming objectives.

  • Hear from USAID colleagues, finance institution experts, and investors on lessons learned from the field and how to collaborate to increase development impact.

  • Discuss special topics within agricultural finance, including gender dimensions, design thinking to unlock solutions, opportunities to reduce risk and operating costs, and broader social and environmental impacts of agricultural finance.

Targeted Audience:
The course is designed for all levels of understanding of finance. It is for development professionals with limited prior experience in the subject area to gain the understanding and skills necessary to integrate agriculture finance activities into programming. While more experienced participants will gain insights from recent developments and lessons learned in the field, as well as benefit from discussions on the latest evidence and thinking on innovative finance and partnerships within agriculture.

Trainers:
The course will be taught by Aly-Khan Jamal (Dalberg) and Patrick Starr (USAID/BFS).

Cost: There is no tuition for the course.
