New African Soybean Seed System Model – Market Opportunities from IITA
Event Information
Starting in just 4 countries in 2016, the Pan-African Trials (PAT) have grown to 23 countries across 111 locations with 56 public-sector and 66 private-sector partners. Testing is taking place in 149 locations involving 24,437 plots. The PATs have already been successful in bringing 15 new soybean varieties to market in Ghana, Mali, Kenya, Cameroon, and Malawi.
Join us for this exciting webinar where the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) will showcase the performance of their materials tested in PAT locations across over 20 African countries, and present licensing and commercialization opportunities for African seed companies, organizations, and institutes interested in bringing these high-performing materials to their growers.
This webinar will cover:
- The role of the Pan-African Trials (PATs) as an evidence-based technology to support registration and commercialization decision-making
- Performance of IITA materials across PAT locations in over 20 African countries
- Opportunities for licensing and commercialization of IITA materials by African seed companies and other entities
- Two Q&A sessions to ensure attendees understand the PATs as a technology, IITA varietal performance, and licensing and commercialization modalities.
