Policy Data Snapshot: Cambodia

Date Published:
June 8, 2018

This policy data snapshot, repared by the Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project, profiles available data on Cambodia relevant to USAID/Cambodia's Feed the Future work and can inform priority reforms and allow for transparent result tracking over time and across countries. The snapshot scores the strength of the legal and institutional environment for agribusinesses across eight topics: seed, fertilizer, machinery, finance, markets, transport, water, and ICT.

According to the World Bank's Enabling the Business of Agrilculture Index, at a high level, Cambodia’s scores show that licensing and licensing renewals are a common bottleneck. The scores also reveal clear areas for improvement, such as expanding the range of financial services available to the agricultural sector.

The Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project is a global support mechanism for Missions and Washington-based USAID offices to address policies as well as legal, institutional, and regulatory factors that affect food security. The project is available to support Missions’ enabling environment needs through technical analysis, advisory services, and strategic knowledge management.
