This brief features selected data on Haiti most relevant to USAID/Haiti's Feed the Future work. According to the World Bank's Enabling the Business of Agriculture Index, Haiti scores lower than the Feed the Future average in enabling access to seed, fertilizer, transport services, and water management. An exception is the just higher than the average in enabling access to agricultural machinery On the whole, scores highlight significant gaps in Haiti’s legal framework, including weak or absent registration and licensing systems as well as few quality control measures.
This snapshot was produced by the Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project, a global support mechanism for Missions and Washington-based USAID offices to address policies as well as legal, institutional, and regulatory factors that affect food security.
