Policy Data Snapshot: Mozambique

Date Published:
June 8, 2018

This brief highlights selected data on Mozambique relevant to USAID/Mozambique's Feed the Future work. According to the Enabling the Business of Agriculture Index, Mozambique is a relatively strong performer in most topic areas with the exceptions of facilitating access to fertilizer and machinery technologies. In several areas however, legal and regulatory frameworks impose inefficient and expensive registration bottlenecks with unnecessarily short time limitations. The legal framework could also improve consumer safeguard measures to improve quality control of agricultural inputs and financial services.
This snapshot was produced by the Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project, a global support mechanism for Missions and Washington-based USAID offices to address policies as well as legal, institutional, and regulatory factors that affect food security.
