Policy Data Snapshot: Nigeria

Date Published:
June 7, 2018

This brief features selected data on Nigeria most relevant to USAID/Nigeria's Feed the Future work. According to the Enabling the Business of Agriculture Index, Nigeria performs relatively well compared to other Feed the Future countries in fostering access to agricultural inputs, particularly fertilizer and machinery, with low costs and quick registration. However, Nigeria’s scores within sub-categories highlight poor quality control systems that undermine consumer confidence and reduce adoption of improved technologies.

This snapshot was produced by the Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project, a global support mechanism for Missions and Washington-based USAID offices to address policies as well as legal, institutional, and regulatory factors that affect food security.
