Policy Data Snapshot: Senegal

Date Published:
June 7, 2018

The Senegal data snapshot briefly highlights how Senegal faired on selected data most relevant to USAID/Senegal's Feed the Future efforts. According to the Enabling the Business of Agriculture Index, compared to the average across the Feed the Future countries surveyed, Senegal performs comparatively well in providing access to markets, seed technologies, and ICT but underperforms in facilitating access to fertilizer, machinery, finance, transport services, and managing its water resources. Sub-category scores reveal gaps in the legal framework and weaknesses in quality control measures and consumer safeguards.

This data snapshot was developed by the Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project, a global support mechanism for Missions and Washington-based USAID offices to address policies as well as legal, institutional, and regulatory factors that affect food security. The project supports Missions’ enabling environment needs through technical analysis, advisory services, and strategic knowledge management. For more information, visit here
