Policy Data Snapshot: Tajikistan

Date Published:
June 7, 2018

This brief features selected data on Tajikistan most relevant to USAID/Tajikistan's Feed the Future work. According to the World Bank's Enabling the Business of Agriculture Index, Tajikistan performs relatively well compared to the Feed the Future country average in machinery, markets, water, and especially transport. Areas with the greatest room for improvement include access to seed, fertilizer, and ICT technologies. Scores highlight weak enforcement of registration regimes, such as those for agricultural inputs and machinery, poor quality control systems, and gaps in laws governing financial services.

This snapshot was produced by the Feed the Future Enabling Environment for Food Security project, a global support mechanism for Missions and Washington-based USAID offices to address policies as well as legal, institutional, and regulatory factors that affect food security.
