A Food Secure Future: Feed the Future Roundtables and Capstone Event

In early 2016, Feed the Future conducted a series of roundtable discussions on emerging trends that will influence the path towards a sustainable global food system. These roundtables gathered a diverse set of experts for focused, small-group exchanges on the following five topics:

  • Food security and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • A new framework for financing agriculture, food security and nutrition
  • Youth and employment
  • Risk and fragility
  • Cities and the future of agriculture and food security

In addition, on Friday, May 20, Feed the Future held a capstone event with a series of panel discussions featuring highlights from the roundtables. Leaders from across the private sector, civil society, the U.S. Government, and the agriculture and development sectors gathered in Washington, DC to share perspectives on food security's role in the global development agenda.
