A podcast about managing one of the most crucial ingredients needed to grow vegetables – soil – has been produced by the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

Karl Ritz and Robert Simmons of Cranfield University, and Guy Thallon from fresh produce company, Produce World, discuss what soil is and why it’s so important to grow vegetables.

The researchers are funded by a Knowledge Transfer Partnership which is funded by Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) (50%), Defra (25%) and NERC (25%), and managed by Technology Strategy Board (TSB).
