Learn to use the Women's Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) and the Gender Integration Framework (GIF) to inform program design and implementation.  Together these tools can be used to identify constraints to women's empowerment and design activities that address them.

Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI)

The Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index is an innovative, two-part tool that measures the five domains of women’s empowerment (production, resources, income, leadership and time use), and the gender parity within households. The WEAI is an aggregate index reported at the country or regional level.
Access the WEAI.

Gender Integration Framework (GIF)

The Gender Integration Framework (GIF) is a tool to advance program design and success through greater inclusion of women. The GIF facilitates a process to strategically examine programmatic needs and progress across key dimensions that contribute to women’s empowerment in agriculture. The GIF builds on findings from the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI).
