Module 1: Measuring Resilience
In this module you will:
- Learn USAID’s definition of resilience and how that definition directly shapes the measurement and analytic approach the Agency takes to capture resilience strengthening over time
- Discover the conceptual framework that guides USAID’s resilience measurement framework
- Understand to how measure shocks and resilience capacities over time
- Comprehend the basics of resilience analysis
- Recognize different monitoring and evaluation designs that have the potential to inform unique types of resilience-related questions
- Explore resilience measurement “frontier topics” that describe where the expected future of field resilience measurement.
Module 2: Resilience and Livelihoods Diversification
In this module you will:
- Review resilience concepts
- Explore the association between livelihood diversification and resilience
- Understand how diversification strategies on and off the farm, and in and outside the agriculture sector, can contribute to comprehensive risk management
- Discover key considerations that impact livelihood diversification
- Gain knowledge in livelihood diversification for design application and intervention in related programs.
Module 3 : Resilience and Sustainable Poverty Escapes
In this module you will:
- Learn how USAID’s definition of resilience relates to sustainable poverty escapes
- Recognize the difference between transitory and sustainable poverty escapes
- Understand the interaction between poverty dynamics and resilience
- Learn what household characteristics and sources of resilience improve the chance of sustainable poverty escapes
