Anna Brenes began work as the Data Steward for USAID Bureau for Food Security in January 2016. Her previous work for USAID included developing and launching USAID Haiti’s performance monitoring information system “DevResults Haiti”. Ms. Brenes works closely with the Bureau for Food Security staff and partners to support USAID development data policies and best practices, USAID’s Public Access Plan, and the development of geospatial tools and curation of data that enhance analyses. In Haiti, she helped develop, review, and update activity M&E plans to strengthen and standardize activity reporting in DevResults Haiti. Prior to working with USAID, Ms. Brenes worked with the State of Minnesota as a Research and GIS Analyst, and in the private sector as a Water Resource Specialist. She has lived and worked abroad with her husband and children in Bolivia, Haiti, Morocco, the Netherlands, and Timor-Leste. Ms. Brenes has an undergraduate BA degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in International Relations, and a graduate MS degree in Agriculture Education/Sustainable Community Development from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.
