Deepa Thiagarajan

United States Director, Global Food Systems, Nutrition and Value Chain Programs Michigan State University

Dr. Deepa Thiagarajan is the Director of Global Agri-Food Systems and Value Chain Programs in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at MSU. Her global agri-food systems development work focuses on agriculture, nutrition and health linkages and on food safety capacity development for value chains and market access for food and agricultural commodities in developing countries. She has led several food and agriculture value chain development projects funded by USAID, USDA, WTO, World Bank, UN agencies, the private sector and other organizations globally, particularly in Africa, Asia and other places. She is currently serving as the Research Manager and Nutrition Sensitive Food Systems Advisor for the USAID supported Legume Systems Innovation lab at MSU.
