Dr. Khaista Yousafzai has over 15 years of professional experience from working in the agriculture and rural development sectors. He is a veterinarian and in addition holds a diploma in dairy technology from the Netherlands. Dr. Yousafzai has a sound research background in evaluation of agriculture and livestock projects using quantitative and qualitative techniques, with consideration for social aspects and sustainability of livelihoods. He has considerable experience in project management and supervision, design and evaluation, screening and feasibility assessment of PPP projects in Central, South, Southeast Asia and middle-east including from working in post-conflict and post-disaster environments in Afghanistan, Kurdistan- Iraq, Kazakhstan, Myanmar, Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

Since, 1998 Dr. Khaista Yousafzai has been involved in livestock and agriculture sector worked on numerous

assignments with different public and private sector, design and implementation of donor funded projects. He has worked with value chain analysis, extension service, and policy analysis and market assessment of the income generation activities in agriculture and livestock sector and vocational skills.

Dr. Yousafzai is skilled in interactions with stakeholders from different social and economic backgrounds including CBOs, members of rural communities (settled and nomadic) engaged in livestock projects and production. He has facilitated focus-groups discussion and conducted key informant interviews with a range of actors from NGOs, CBOs, private sector input and service providers and other actors in agriculture and livestock value chains.

Dr. Yousafzai has worked on short- and long-term assignments with different UN agencies and donors including UNDP, FAO, UNIDO, DFID, ADB, EU, IFAD, WB, USAID and USDA. He is fluent in English, Dari and Pashto with good working skills in Urdu and Punjabi. He speaks some Arabic, Burmese, Kurdish, Kazakh, Tajik, Turkish and Uzbek
