Dr. Eric Raile is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science and the director of the Human Ecology Learning and Problem Solving Lab at Montana State University. He is primarily a development scholar whose research focuses on political will and public will for social change, governance issues, and the environment. His research has been funded by agencies that include the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Agency for International Development. His recent research projects have focused on political will and public will for climate-smart agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa, the use of narratives in improving preparedness for natural hazards, and the conceptualization and measurement of resilience as it pertains to food systems. He worked formerly for the U.S. government on international anticorruption issues.
