Ethiopia Gender and Youth Inclusion Specialist Banyan Global

Genet Admassu is a Gender and Youth Inclusion Specialist at Banyan Global where she provides technical leadership and training on the USAID-funded Feed the Future Ethiopia Value Chain Activity. She has nine years of gender programming experience including, conducting gender analyses, gender mainstreaming and activity design, and facilitating gender trainings. She also developed expertise in youth programming through her work on children’s education and family care at SOS Children’s Village. Genet previously worked at CARE Ethiopia where she empowered women though village economic and saving associations through Feed the Future’s Livelihood for Resilience Activity. She has also served as a gender expert for the Ethiopian Catholic Secretariat where she conducted gender analyses and supported women’s economic empowerment through livelihoods programming. Genet hold a master’s degree in gender studies from Hawassa University in Ethiopia and a bachelor’s degree in social work and ministry from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.
