Peru Chief of Party The Palladium Group - The Peru Cocoa Alliance II phase

 

An economist with more than 30 years of experience in the design and implementation of business development, anti-poverty, rural development, and food security projects in Peru. Demonstrated experience working with bilateral donors including USAID and the GTZ. As economic advisor for the GTZ’s German-Peruvian Project to Support Local Planning, worked with local counterparts on participatory development approaches, design of productive activities, and monitoring and evaluation. Extensive experience in private sector development activities in Peru. Jose has led the Peru Poverty Reduction and Alleviation project overseeing activities for the project’s regional economic service centers. Works closely with USAID, private-sector businesses and producers associations, subcontractors and other key actors to conduct strategic planning, make programmatic adjustments, ensure achievement of project targets and maximize project impact. At this moment José is currently the Team Leader of the Peru Cocoa Alliance, a public-private partnership that brings together the most important economic actors in the cocoa and chocolate value chain in Peru and works with more than 20,000 small farmers. Pacífico University in Perú edited in 2002 his Master Thesis title “Nutrition and Productivity for poor peasants in the Peruvian Andes” (in “ Health, Equity and Poverty in Perú”, Rafael Cortez Editor , Research Institute, Pacífico University, Lima-Perú 2002)
