PORGANIZATIONAL DETAILS

Livelihood Relief & Development Organization ( LRDO) is a minority man led  led   organization that  dedicated to support Somali  minority women , Girls  children & disabilities for  at least 10-years within the sectors of livelihood , Food Security ,  Nutrition , Agriculture , Health  Wash , Protection, disabilities  & Gender inclusively 

it is further to achieve its ultimate objectives by distributing  or creating  income generation activity  or providing food and seed  assistance  for  the most affected people  inclusively  such as women  children , girls , boys  disabilities  & Minority group  who are  mostly affected  with the sector  of Humanitarian Aid Service Delivery

our aspects of our organization are accountability, transparency ,teamwork  & techniques , participation , collaboration , leadership/Governance & decision making   

trustworthiness, honesty, and openness to every person who are in Humanitarian Crisis by not respecting color, culture or clan

but  it does not work for the conflict of interest  or any kind of individuals or   group favoritism

PROBLEM ANALYSIS

Due to the extremely volatile political and security situation with armed clashes between clans and/or armed forces, many people have fled Somalia to neighboring countries  such as Nairobi Ethiopia  & Most

Also inside there were Mass forced evictions of IDPs from established settlements continue to rise in 2018. Investments made by humanitarian partners to facilitate access to basic services, including access to safe and clean water, health facilities, and schools have been negatively affected. In the December 2017 Mogadishu evictions, some 4,200 households in 25 out of 38 IDP settlements were destroyed, along with infrastructure such as schools, WASH facilities and other community facilities. By November 2018, more than 234,000 people were evicted from their homes, which is a 40 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2017. Evictions often occur with little or no notice and are carried out by uniformed armed security personnel enlisted by land owners

Health crisis 

Here is  a sock or  a great of  fear raising from  Covit-19 cases increasing a day after day  beyond there is no Social  movement  in  Somalia’s health system  is low or underperformance for several years back  with major gaps in health service availability &  accessibility. Excess mortality is a reality in Somalia due to malnutrition, disease outbreaks measles, AWD/cholera), poor hygiene and sanitation conditions. Three million people are in need of health care service in Somalia.

Food security crisis

Estimated population of  3,2 million people in Somalia are anticipated to experience some degree of food insecurity, out of which 1,5 million people will require acute and life-saving interventions. Amongst the most food insecure, IDPs account for some 40 per cent of the total food insecure population and 58 per cent of those who are facing Integrated Food Security Phase Classification  (crisis) and 4 (emergency). In several IDP camps, food security and livelihood coping outcomes suggest some IDP households may be in Catastrophe  in the absence of humanitarian food assistance.

Nutrition crisis

Malnutrition is still a major concern in Somalia with the national average Global Acute Malnutrition (GAM) levels at 14 per cent. Some areas in the country remain above the emergency threshold of 15 per cent. Some 1,5 million people are expected to need emergency nutrition assistance in 2019. Despite the improved food security, the nutrition situation continues to be at serious levels, particularly for displaced populations. More than 950,000 children are estimated to be acutely malnourished, including some 173,000 severely acute malnourished. Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) and micronutrient indicators continue to be of major concern

Protection crisis 

Some estimated 2.3 million people will require protection assistance in 2019 to protect their safety, dignity or basic rights, grave violations of children’s rights and gender-based violence due the multi-faceted armed conflict and violence situation. Child labour and recruitment to armed groups is on the rise while protection from gender-based violence and support to survivors remains a priority need for mainly women and girls in affected communities.

  PROJECT OBJECTIVES

Our Objective is to tackle or minimize COVIT-19 Victims in  the  emergency situation of Medicines  &  food security  & nutrition  crisis  as urgent situations in which there is clear evidence that an event or series of events has occurred which causes human suffering or imminently threatens human lives or livelihoods which the community or local government concerned has not nothing to remedy and it is a demonstrably abnormal event or series of events which produces dislocation of the community  in the life is  on an exceptional scale. The event or series of events may comprise one or a combination of the following: Natural disasters, human made emergencies resulting in displacement or returnee flows slow-onset food crises related to drought , floods &  crop failures, pests and diseases that result in an erosion of the capacity of vulnerable populations to meet their food needs &  acute economic shock, and complex emergencies so we need to save lives of many people with relief budget  from WFP

 

 

 

PROJECT JUSTIFICATION

As a result, it can minimize a shock of food crisis then promotes alternative issues of life improvement and  it can be a  life-mitigation project despite the persistence of malicious aspects. as well as encouraging a reassessment of the food crisis to reinforce intensive agriculture concerns ,also to reduce a shock of malnutrition 

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY

Our strategy provides a programming framework that captures the existing challenges of Covit-19- in Somalia and reduces its cause to strive for greater impact with greater efficiency and sustainability. It maintains the vision of good Strategic Plan to save many lives in humanitarian crisis

Lastly Food and nutrition security crisis will be achieved if gets the proposed budget  from WFP

EXPECTED PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Many lives  will be  improved from Covit- Crisis &  Current starvation of hunger  Even  be saved   from long crisis of food security & livelihood Challenges

Many vulnerable group who have nothing to eat  will get something to eat , they also  will be recovered by  physically , Morally & mind  after this project being implemented

ORGANIZATION ‘S PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

Our organization has got 10 experience in Humanitarian aid service delivery in  south & Central  Somalia  even it  works closely with both community & Local   Authorities to avoid  misunderstanding during project implantation

This organization has implemented  seven  projects  that co- funded  by  UNICEF  & Somali Diaspora  in wash sector within ten years   because our Organization has been involved   in four Clusters  such as Wash Cluster , Nutrition cluster, food security cluster & Protection  Cluster  at Regional & National Level  in Somalia 

COMMUNITY  PARTICIPATION

Community participation is our core function because it Enables affected populations to play an active role in the decision-making processes that affect them through the establishment of clear & safe access to their needs and practices to engage them appropriately by ensuring that the most marginalized and affected are represented & participated in the beneficiaries of this project also it  has a good  influence in  getting equal opportunity with other people beside them .
