Dr. Rakesh Kothari is currently a Monitoring & Evaluation / Geographic Information System Coordinator at International Development Enterprises (IDE) Nepal, a non-profit organization that creates income and livelihood opportunities for poor rural households. He has more than 15 years’ experience in market development/value-chain approaches, climate change, food security, agriculture, women empowerment, micro-finance, nutrition, water & sanitation, public-private partnerships, policy analysis/reform, and program development. He has made notable contributions to research in resilience building, adaptation, poverty alleviation, economic growth, inclusion, good governance, and agricultural development. Dr. Kothari is well versed when it comes to computers and has good knowledge of Microsoft Office Package, Statistical Software, Mobile Data Collection, GIS, Remote Sensing, Hardware, and Networking. He has a Ph.D. in Sociology from Singhania University, India, and a master’s degree in sociology and a master’s degree in management from Tribhuwan University, Nepal.
