Abdul Shatar Abdullai

Ghana Monitoring Evaluation and Learninig Officer Friends of the Nation (FoN Ghana)

Abdullai Abdul-Shatar is the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer for the ReDIAL project at Friends of the Nation in Takoradi, Western Region. He had a BA Degree in Economics and Entrepreneurial Development from University for Development Studies (UDS-Wa). Shatar has over 10 years of working experience in the field of research and other development interventions related programs or projects with strong skills in the use of STATA, QGIS, ArcGIS, SPSS, Advance excel, and some survey tools including Kobo Collect Toolbox, Taroworks, Salesforce, Survey CTO among others.
Prior to joining Friends of the Nation, Mr. Abdullai Abdul-Shatar worked extensively for four years as Data and Systems Manager with International Development Enterprises (IDE – Ghana) in the field of Water Sanitation and Hygiene (Wash) funded by the Government of Canada (GAC), and Agriculture (“Korsung”). The project's aim is to reduce wash-related diseases among girls, boys, women, and men in the three Northern Regions of Ghana. IDE Ghana uses a human-centered design to implement development intervention that seeks to improve the livelihood of the poorest household in the three (3) Northern Regions of Ghana. Shatar deployed his exemplary leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, strong team building, programming, and data analysis skills for the implementation of the WASH project implemented by iDE Ghana.

As a Senior Field Officer at Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA GHANA), Abdullai Abdul-Shatar was at the forefront in the dissemination of the Innovative Resources and Technologies for Smallholder farmers (DIRTS) project. IPA – Ghana uses Randomised Control Trial (RCT) to implement development interventions in rural communities in Ghana. The DIRTs project was to provide farmers with innovative technologies that will increase farmer’s productivity in Northern Ghana. Mr. Shatar was able to successfully implement the activities of the DIRTs project through good leadership, team management and planning skills, community-led approach, and interpersonal skills.

As the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer for the ReDIAL which is funded by the European Union and Friends of the Nation as the lead partners. Abdullai Abdul-Shatar is bringing a vast of experience and skills to help implement the ReDIAL project. These experiences include, questionnaire design, questionnaire deployment, data monitoring and analysis, Team management, and report writing.
