Timothy Harrigan
My long-term goal is to develop an applied, problem-solving, research, teaching, and extension program in building sustainable agroecosystems and protecting soil and water quality. In recent years, work in integrating manure management, low-disturbance tillage, no-till cropping, manure application, and cover crops to build soil health demonstrates integrating learning and discovery through multi-disciplinary collaboration, on-farm work, and formal laboratory or modeling efforts. This past work, coupled with recent farming systems work in West Africa, increased knowledge and awareness of new and innovative opportunities to develop sustainable agroecosystems. My integrated research, outreach, and extension efforts have increased the knowledge, skills, and abilities of farm managers in the U.S. and Africa to change their management practices sustainably
