Wilfred Ouko
I am an Agricultural & Applied Economist; Seed & Food Systems expert with over 10 years Technical and Consultancy experience in Eastern, Central and Southern Africa; with public & private sectors, IARIs (CIAT/PABRA, CIMMYT & AATF), UN Organization (FAO), Academic Institution (MSU-SIIL), NGOs and CBOs. Currently, I am the Program Advisor for SCALE Award and ISSD Africa project - Seed Systems in Fragile and Emergency contexts at Mercy Corps. Previously, I was part of the Economic and Social Development (ESN-HR) Roster at UN-FAO, as Post-harvest Management, Food loss & waste and Urban Food systems Specialist. I supported several technical assignments including seed systems assessments in Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Burundi, Rwanda & Ethiopia; linking agriculture and nutrition in western Kenya; pre-appraisal mission in Tanzania & Zanzibar; baseline surveys in Kenya and Tanzania; training of VBAAs in Tanzania, among others. I am passionate about Agriculture - particularly seed and food systems.
