“Beefing Up” Sustainable Livestock Feed: the why, how, and help
Event Information
Despite all the buzzwords and jargon, feeding livestock sustainably involves common-sense practices and simple strategies, many of which farmers have employed for generations. Beef producers in North America have a golden opportunity to lead the way and leave a legacy for the planet that includes preserving nature, protecting soil health, and keeping our cherished Great Plains from becoming a bygone memory.
To support beef producers, World Wildlife Fund and AgriWebb are hosting a virtual discussion explaining the current state of Great Plains plow-up, why this impacts beef producers, and how producers, like you, can be a part of the solution.
Our panel will:
- cover and discuss supportive policy
- demystify “other effective area-based conservation measures” or OECMs
- provide inside information on programs and incentives available today to make the transition easier
Speakers Include:
- Patrick Lendrum, Sr. Scientist, Northern Great Plains, WWF
- Suzy Friedman, Sr. Director, Food Policy, WWF
- TBD, Rancher Perspectives
Moderated by:
- Sam Wildman, Senior Program Officer, Sustainable Protein and Feed Systems, WWF
- Nicole Buckley-Biggs, Vice President of Sustainability, AgriWebb
