NICHOLAS WAINAINA
My name is Nicholas Ng'ang'a Wainaina. I am a Kenyan male aged 34 years. I am a family man with one wife married since 2018.
I studied bachelor of science in Applied Biology (microbiology option) at the Kenya Methodist university in Meru county ,Kenya.
I am currently currently working at the Kenya bureau of standards as a microbiologist and a quality management officer in the Testing department of KEBS.
I do analysis of all microbiological samples and train new staff and students on attachment on microbiological techniques as well as good laboratory practice.
part of my include overseeing all the KEBS laboratories in the quality management office ensuring timely releasing of the testing results to customers and
ensuring their quality as well as solving customers complains .other responsibilities include:
a) Check and ensure that the quality system document Control process is maintained.
b) Implement an annual schedule for internal audits, oversee the audit process and audit.
c) Compile all internal audit reports and follow up to ensure, root cause, correction and corrective actions are done and audits closed out.
d) Check for implementation of corrective actions from internal audits and external audits.
e) Document minutes of departmental management review and update the minute request form.
f) Record complaints and anomalies, forward to respective process owners (specific laboratories) and make follow up for resolution and close out.
g) Compile and carry out analysis of complaint and anomalies received in the department.
h) Compile accreditation documents and take part in pre /post assessment activities.
i) Implement audit schedule and audit the laboratories on implementation of quality system processes and quality system objectives i.e. EQC, IQC and PT.
j) Take part in auditing subcontracting laboratories that are not accredited.
k) Review training materials and train testing staff on various processes that have an impact on the laboratory quality system.
l) Establish and maintain effective links with peers in similar institutions to keep abreast with the happenings in the field.
