Since November 2023, Dr. Katrin Glatzel is a Senior Scientist at the University of Bonn's Center for Development Research where she leads a new program on 'Agrifood systems-transformative research and policy guidance'. 

Before joining ZEF, she was the Director of Policy Innovation at AKADEMIYA2063, where she led and coordinated the institution’s activities in support of facilitating the identification, replication and scaling up of successful policies and strategies to further strengthen and accelerate progress towards food systems transformation, inclusive economic growth, and increased prosperity in Africa. She also headed the work of the Malabo Montpellier Panel, a high-level group of experts supporting the African Union Commission and African governments in attaining the targets of the African Union's Agenda 2063, the Malabo Declaration, and the SDGs. Prior to joining AKADEMIYA2063, she was a Research Fellow at the International Food Policy Research Institute. Between 2016 - 2023 she was based in Dakar, Senegal. She previously worked as Policy and Research Officer at Imperial College London, where she continues to be a Visiting Researcher. She is also an Extraordinary Lecturer at the University of Pretoria’s Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension and Rural Development. Dr. Glatzel is a public policy and strategy specialist and holds a PhD in Environmental Research and Policy from Imperial College London and the MSc Public Management and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
