Overview

The purpose of this session is to enable you to use performance monitoring as a means for strategic adaptive management of Feed the Future activities. Monitoring and evaluation data can be used not only to evaluate an Feed the Future activity’s impact but also as a management tool to strengthen the impact of an activity. Good data, tabulated as indicator values or metrics, provides evidence that helps us understnad the context within which we are working, the nature and extent of the problems and issues we are addressing, the work we are doing, the progress we are making, what is working and what is not. Working with robust data allows everyone to identify needs, make claims about what we are achieving and enhances evidence-based decision making.

Session Objectives:

  • Understand why Feed the Future Moniture Evaluation and Learning is important, and how Feed the Future data are used
  • Understand the Feed the Future Results Framework, Theory of Change, and suite of Feed the Future indicators
  • Provide a set of resources to help support your Feed the Future Monitoring Evaluation and Learning efforts
